How to Upgrade to Excel Invoice Manager Version 2.5 Build 1008

The setup program (excel_invoice_manager_setup.exe) of Excel Invoice Manager Version 2.5 Build 1008 is built with a new installer that is different from the one used for the previous versions. While the file size is reduced dramatically, the new setup program is unable to completely remove the previous version.

For this reason, it is recommended that you remove the previous version before installing Version 2.5 Build 1008. The steps are:

  1. Backup your template and database file. If you are still using the default template and Sample database that are stored in the installation folder of Excel Invoice Manager and named INVOICE.xls and Sample.mdb respectively, copy them to a different folder using Windows Explorer, such as your desktop.

    WARNING: If you are using INVOICE.xls and Sample.mdb for your working data, and they are stored in the installation folder of Excel Invoice Manager, the uninstaller will remove them without any warning. To keep your data safe, you MUST backup them before uninstalling Excel Invoice Manager.

    If you are unsure of the exact steps for backup or copying file, please contact us before upgrade.

  2. Uninstall the version currently installed on your computer. Simply go to Control Panel and click the Add or Remove Programs command, or use the Uninstall command located in the Start menu -> Programs -> Office-Kit.com -> Excel Invoice Manager -> Uninstall.
  3. Install the new version.
  4. If you backed up your template and database file from the installation folder of Excel Invoice Manager, copy them back to the installation folder. They will work fine with the new version of Excel Invoice Manager.

    If your template and database file are stored outside the installation folder of Excel Invoice Manager, you need to do nothing more. They will work fine with the new version of Excel Invoice Manager.
